VINTAGE JACOBEAN EMBROIDERED COUNTERPANE USE AS A CUTTER









Can you imagine what this would have looked like when it was first completed, it would have been stunning.  I have kept this with the intention of cutting it up and making a footstool plus a couple of cushions, but one of those projects that never eventuated.  The embroidery is typical Jacobean, the colours are what I call Autumn tones, lovely greens, gold, rusts and browns.  Unfortunately there is a lot of damage, some of the embroidery has come away, there is one hole plus at one end a couple of holes, (these I have photographed)  The measurements are: 2.50mtrs. x 2.13mtrs. there is still enough of the embroidery to cut around and make into something stunning, even cutting out one of the pheasants to frame would look interesting.  I think this would be around 100years old, it has been well loved in it's time.
