Lovely French Ladies Fan with an Erotic Scene C1850, possibly earlier. The Scene on the Fan is from C1800 and it shows a Young Lady laying on a bed face down with her Naked Posteria showing and a Maid with a Syringe pointing towards her Posteria. In the doorway to the bedroom there is a handsome young Gentleman looking in ?. Surrounding the Scene is a row of small Sequins. The Fan is made from Paper possibly waxed, with wooden stays and ends. On the end wooden cover is a makers name which is worn it reads --LAURANT ABBAYE ALBERT ? and in the bottom right hand corner is the word Deposee. Perhaps someone could advise me of the makers name. The Fan has some damage with a little bit of the wood missing to the bottom of the back cover and some small tears etc to the paper. The fan measures 22cms long when closed. This is a super item which would enhance any collection.
