VINTAGE Library Checkout Cards for PRiMiTiVe Hang Tags

This listing is for 6 vintage library checkout cards that I have coffee/vanilla soaked and baked. Because these are thicker than the manilla hang tags, I had to soak and bake them over and over again to get an even color. Do you remember these cards? They used to slip into that pouch in the inside front cover of library books and they would be stamped with the date of checkout and your name would be written in. Now THAT is old skool compared to the electronic systems they have now huh? You can’t find them like this anymore and I only have them in a very limited number. My sweet elderly neighbor is a retired librarian from the Detroit Public School System and she thought I would come up with something crafty to do with these. I immediately thought they would make excellent hang tags or ornaments with old school days photos on them. What cool bookmarks these would be! These would be great for altered art, scrapbooking or mixed media projects too. I have pressed them so you will receive them pressed as flat as I could get them! No two are the very same…some are lighter and some are darker...all are YUMMY! The staining on each is unique, they are PERFECTLY IMPERFECT which is what makes them PERFECTLY PRiMiTiVe.

These were prematurely “aged” right in my very own kitchen using my favorite blend of coffee & vanilla. Precious memories are created and cherished in my kitchen while creating these handmade little beauties and I assure you that no hang tag was harmed in the making of these little treasures…it is more like going to a spa.
