BEAUTIFUL DETAILED CASTING!
Just received from one of the many estate loads we get in our shop each month is this fabulous silver KNIGHT'S TEMPLAR watch fob / chain. It commemorates the visit of the Boston Commandery to the 1904 gathering in San Francisco, California. This great very rare and very collectible fob consists of 4 ornate and detailed plaques descending in order of size from the watch hook. Each plaque is cast on both sides, one inscribed with historical information and the other with historical buildings and scenes of Templar history in Boston. Because this fob was made only for member's of the Masonic Temple in Boston in 1904, it is very scarce! A super rare antique Fraternal Lodge item to add to any collection!

Each beautifully detailed and finely cast plaque is surrounded with a sinuous floral border. That much thought was put into the design is apparent when you notice that on each descending plaque the flowers grow from tightly closed buds to full open flowers.
This RARE commemorative silver watch fob measures about 6 inches long with the widest medallion plaque being 1.25 inches wide.
JUST FOR FUN: an interesting bit of historical trivia -
the Knights Templar were believed to be the keepers of
the Holy Grail, were the first international bankers, protectors of the holy Temple Mount in the Holy Land, warrior knights for God,
and a very, very powerful and wealthy sect --- when King Philip of France attempted to simultaneously
kill all the knights on the same day to sieze their assets and usurp their power, that unlucky
day has been forever remembered as Friday 13th.
