VINTAGE NEEDLEPOINT TAPESTRY PILLOW PITCHER / FRUIT
This is a superb décor cushion made from a very nicely hand worked vintage needlepoint that came from Belgium. Worked in coloured wools to a very high standard, a blue pitcher stands beside a variety of fruit embroidered in soft and muted shades of blue, green, corals, golds and yellows, brown and white on a pale biscuit ground merging to beige. We have trimmed the cushion around all four sides with a vintage 1980's French silk fringe passementerie in 'midnight blue'....a very dense and luxurious trim - we only use antique or vintage trims to embellish our cushions - never repro - as our personal feeling is that older textiles deserve older trims to compliment them. The reverse side is vintage velvet in a shade of 'clotted cream' ...this is a beautiful, dense, colour....no patchy areas, that's just light reflection bouncing off the pile. A stunning cushion that will work in most room settings including vintage, traditional, country style, and cottage. It's a beautiful decorative accessory created entirely from old textiles that will add character and timeless beauty to your home. This is a unique cushion, the only one of it's kind, you won't find another like this anywhere - guaranteed! CONDITION REPORT: Very good / excellent for the age of the textiles and trim with no holes, tears, clean and with no odours. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: 15 1/2 inches wide x 11 1/2 inches deep with a top quality waxed cambric feather and down inner custom made for this cushion by renaissance-textiles. Waxed cambric is a strong casing that contains the feather and down and prevents the feathers escaping.
