For sale by auction is this VINTAGE "AMBASSADOR" BRASS TRUMPET manufactured by F. E. Olds Company, Fullerton, California. This classic Bb trumpet is known for it's superior tone, excellent craftmanship and is regarded as one of the best student trumpets mass produced in America. This trumpet has a serial number 799,xxx and was made sometime around 1971. With this sale comes a brown hard shell case with a plush brown interior that's in great condition. Also included is a silver Benge 7C mouthpiece along with a Humes and Berg straight mute. This vintage trumpet plays perfectly right out of the case and has been professionally serviced at a local music store. The slides all move freely as they should and have been cleaned, polished and lubricated. The pistons are in great shape and have very good compression. They too have been cleaned and lubricated and are quick and responsive. The body of this vintage horn by Olds is in amazing condition. There are no signs of repair or damage on the trumpet and everything is in original condition. There are a few small dings on the horn, but they are minor and most very unnoticable. Nearly 99% of the body is dent free and the etching on the bell still looks great. The braces are sturdy and straight and all components function as they should. This "Ambassador" horn does have brass wear in the usual places and most is from normal use. I would estimate the plate wear at 30 to 35% however the remainder of the trumpet still looks good and the lacquered finish has taken on a nice patina hue.
