One of Paris' most famous cabarets, the Moulin Rouge ("The Red Windmill") took its name from one of the many windmills in the Montmartre area of Paris. It is the home of the French CanCan. The Moulin Rouge is located at the base of Montmartre, in Pigalle - Paris' red-light district. ~~~~~~ Offered for auction with no reserve is a vintage Paris chic double mirrored compact. Metal compact features phenomenal Moulin Rouge graphics along with wonderful early Paris architecture. The bustling city scene includes Parisians with their umbrellas and overcoats along with vintage automobiles on the busy street on a winter day in early France. A charming nostalgic scene with beautiful aged coloring. Compact is not an extremely old antique but a vintage estate piece with age. In really great condition throughout with some light surface scratches and a tiny unobtrusive ding that are on the back side. The hinges are in excellent condition and operate perfectly. Square in shape; compact measures 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”. This rare little beauty barely made it to Ebay for auction - before I could get it listed, everyone who saw it wanted it!
