VINTAGE "PERETTE" PARTY DRESS: METALLIC GOLD FULL SKIRT

Wonderful 50s vintage party dress is tagged "PERETTE NEW YORK". The fabric is a metallic weave, and it seems like there is actual metal fiber. It is lightweight. The color is pale gold, reflective. Small turned collar closes at neck with a small covered button and loop. It can also be worn open. The gold buttons in the front are decorative. The back closes with a working metal zipper and hook. Puffed sleeves are elbow length, cuffed and detailed with giant prong set rhinestone cufflinks, which are sewn. Styling of the top is blouson, waist area is tapered with several darts in both front and back. There are wide belt loops, no belt. Full skirt is pleat gathered. There is a chiffon underslip. No size tag, in L-XL range with bust 42", waist 32", torso 17", length 41".

Condition is good, seems clean, there are some "vintagey" issues: 1) I guarantee that there was some dancing done in this dress. You can see in the picture that the fabric under the arms is distressed. Not torn or stained, it is pulled, and there has been some rearrangement of the weave fibers. 2) The last time that this dress was cleaned a decision was made to press the skirt pleats as sharp as razor blades. Fortunately no damage was done, and I have softened this handiwork. 3) Dress was shortened 7", and this was done professionally.
