This is a vintage Fort Ticonderoga, New York, redware pottery jar. This redware jar is hand thrown (made), and measures about 10" tall, about 4" diameter at the top, 5 1/8" diameter at the most bulbous body size, and has a 4" diameter base. It is double ink stamped on the bottom "Fort Ticonderoga - New York - U.S.A.", view photo. The white paint on the jar I believe is not original, When I washed it, it started to peel off, I believe it can be easily removed, but that is up to the buyer. It has a chip on the top rim and a crack down the other side about 3 3/4" long. Other than that, this is still a nice example of early New York redware pottery.
