VINTAGE UZBEK FERGANA HANDMADE EMBROIDERY SUZANI

Suzanis - wonderful handmade embroideries on several panels connected together - are becoming more popular and more popular all over the world. And there are many reasons for that. This suzani is from Fergana. The age of it is approximately middle of the 20th century. The foundation of silk-cotton embroidery is cotton fabric of rich red color. The field of the item is filled with rosettes, composed of floral elements and stems. Special attention deserves stripe on 3 sides of suzani. It is made from velour with fanciful embroidery and icludes inserts partially decorated with spangles. The suzani is not lined.

Stitch: couching and chain.
Size: 96" x 69" (inch)/243.8" x 175" (cm).
Condition: good, have some holes and stains.
