Personal Observations -- WOWSERS! Johanna is perhaps best known for Heidi, the story of an orphan girl who lives with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps -- other works for adults and children include the present book / Cornell / Moni the Goat Boy / Tori, the Little Woodcarver, among some sixty stories in total -- in her honor they issued a postage stamp in 1951 / a commemoraative coin in 2001

not a whisper of rubbing do I find found on the usually expected cover extremities after some eighty - six dreary wet blustery frigid dismal New Jersey early autumns -- tight binding, clean inside -- pages printed on a quality high rag content paper, appearing as slightly off white under my fluorescent desk lamp. This awesome book is a MUST HAVE for the reference library of anyone with an interest in Swiss young readers books -- or as a gift for a young friend / your home school library
