“VISIONAIRE 45 : MORE TOYS” - YELLOW Designs by Gucci, Vivienne Westwood, Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons, Christian Lacroix for Pucci and Maison Martin Margiela Published by Visionaire Publishing, LLC, New York, NY, 2005 Concept Development: KidRobot LIMITED EDITION OF 2,500 Visionaire 45 comes on the heels of the wildly successful "Visionaire 44: Toys." In that production, 10 world-famous fashion designers created 10 original Visionaire toy characters. "Visionaire 44" had two color sets (Black & Red), and Visionaire 45 also has two color sets (Blue & Yellow), and again, top-flight world-famous fashion designers were asked to create little toy characters for one of the two Sets. From the US Distributor: "With the success of 'Visionaire 44 - Toys,' Visionaire releases 'Visionaire 45 - More Toys,' featuring a whole new roster of international fashion designers. Once again testifying that Visionaire is never bound to any traditional format, this issue is in collaboration with toy maker Kidrobot. Here, 10 original Visionaire toys have been customized into 10 unique characters by 10 (world-famous) fashion designers. The designs are silk-screened onto the plastic toys. The issue is released as two color-coded sets of five toys (Blue & Yellow); each Set contains photos of all 10 characters in an accordion-fold catalogue, along with a set of accessories that the toys can hold, including a toy cell phone, martini, flower, and camera." This is the scarce YELLOW version of Visionaire 45 - More Toys. It contains 5 polychrome vinyl figures housed in a yellow cardboard and plastic case, with a leporello pamphlet laid in. This set features the designs by Gucci, Vivienne Westwood, Comme des Garsons, Christian Lacroix for Emilo Pucci, and Maison Martin Margiela. Kidrobot is the world's premier creator of limited edition art toys designed by world-renowned artists with backgrounds in graffiti & fine art, illustration, graphic & industrial design, and music. The "Diamante" toy is designed by Gucci, "Ultra Femininity" by Vivienne Westwood, "Play" by Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons, "Sole" Mio by Christian Lacroix for Pucci, and "MMMmmm" by Maison Martin Margiela. This LIMITED EDITION set is offered in NEW condition, as are as the accompanying attachments. The protective outer shipping box is in FINE condition, and does its job well in protecting the contents of the Sets. The Toys measure 4 ½ x 2 ¾ inches, and there are 5 per set. This set came from a release of 2,500, is out-of-production and sells at a premium. IMPORTANT: Given the recent flurry of toy recalls from products made in China, we want to note that Kidrobot (the maker of the toys in this Issue of Visionaire) has had NONE of their products or toys recalled due to lead or any other potentially poisonous or toxic production materials. Also, keep in mind that these expensive figurines are part of the Visionaire line of Collectibles, and are not intended to be children's toys, and certainly the special attachments that come with each Set are small and potentially capable of being swallowed by children. Therefore, this Seller claims no responsibility once these Issues/Sets leave our Store in terms of children's safety, and leaves that up to parental oversight.
