SQUIER STRATOCASTER

  • This is the "STRATOCASTER" made in Korea by SQUIER of Fender. We are not certain of the age of this guitar, but based on the fact is was made in Korea, we think that dates this from 1996 to 1998. Serial number is "VN357511". Although it is not marked a "Pro-Tone", all the details seem to indicate that it may be a pro-tone series. Here are the details:
  • Vintage Blonde in color
  • Solid Ash Body
  • 1 Piece maple neck with walnut inlay on the back
  • Three single coil alnico pick-ups
  • 21 frets
  • 5-way blade switch for a variety of tones

CONDITION: This guitar has been used.....A lot! However, even with all it's use, it has been tested & really sounds great! We had the guitarist from our church's worship band test it out. He said it plays great & the action is awesome. He was very impressed at the distinct sound that only comes from a genuine Strat.

It does have a crack in the finish of the body extending from both sides of the neck (see close-ups below), but these seem to be cosmetic only, as the guitar & neck are firm. The previous owner moved the volume knob down to where the neck tone know was. He did this so that there was more room for the picking hand. There are a few dings, with the worst being on the side shown in the close-up below (circled in green in the pic). Also, there was an oval decal & a cross tape strip that show by a differnt shade of fading on the blonde color (also a close-up showing this below). Missing the whammy bar.....sorry.

Overall....this definately shows wear & character....but the main reason to have this guitar is for the famous Strat sound......and this guitar provides that, and provides that well!!!
