THIS IS A WONDERFUL WALL POCKET SIMPLY MARKED "JAPAN" IN A BLUISH-BLACK INK. I believe it to be a vintage piece styled after the HUMMEL boys and girls in the GERMAN OR OLD WORLD STYLE The cute little pair have flirtatious and fun eyes and appear to be singing on the way to market with a basket of apples. They have sweet little red lips and rosy cheeks. So Cute!
It is in need of a good cleaning, has a small scuff mark on the toe, but no chips or flaws that I found otherwise.
I am selling some of my favorite collectibles in time for Christmas. I have two wonderful grandkids that live with me and these funds will be set aside for their Christmas activities. Each year I try to provide experiences for them and other kids in the family that they will cherish forever. I feel it is a great time to expose them to art & culture rather than giving them a gift they will likely not remember next year! Last year we attended storytime at a historical museum and had an authentic pioneer experience with wassail, pine cone ornaments, and of course a visit with Santa and a small town parade!
