These are a substantial plastic-like material (they MUST be sturdy because they've LASTed and still look FAAAAAB-u-lous!! :) ~ looks like carved wood and feels like it too!

Date stamped on the back 1971 USA

My Mother used these on either side of a wind up clock that she had on the walls of our home when I was a kid growing up in the 50's ~ 60's! (These are just like them, but I CAN'T let go of HERS!:)...

NO problems with these at all!
