Vasastjarnan - The Vasa Star. Official monthly journal of the Vasa Order of America, published in the Swedish and English Languages by the Grand Lodge, Ellis F. Hillner, Grand Master.
11 issues from 1955 to 1957. Each issue is 20 pages, 8.5 x 11 inches and filled with stories, news, advertisements, in both Swedish and English. Illustrated with photos. In good to very good condition, two issues are partly disbound but all pages are present.
The Vasa Order of America began more than a century ago as a benefit fraternal society for Swedish immigrants to the United States. Membership at the time was limited to Swedish born men who through the Vasa Order met others who needed to learn the new language and ways of the new country. The Order is named for Gustav Vasa, who liberated the country in the 16th century and became the first King of modern Sweden. ••••••••••••••••••• SHIPPING - In US: The cost of Media Mail shipping for most books within the U.S. is $4.00. For larger or multiple items please use the shipping calculator. Please note: All packages sent to U.S. addresses are insured and/or have delivery confirmation. Insurance is required on books which sell for $75 or more. Priority Mail shipping is available upon request and costs extra. SHIPPING - INTERNATIONAL: You can use the shipping calculator to get prices for both Priority and First Class International. Please note that all items over 4 pounds can only be shipped with Priority Air International. First Class International is less expensive but has no tracking option. If a book fits, we can use the Priority Air envelopes which are $10.95 to Canada and $12.95 to the rest of the world. BIDDING: If you have any questions, please contact us prior to bidding. Please don’t bid if you don’t intend to pay. Your bid is a contract and if you fail to complete the transaction it may result in the termination of your eBay account. PAYMENT: We accept PayPal, ProPay as well as Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover cards. We expect payment within 7 days unless other arrangements are made. We make every effort to ship within 2 business day upon receipt of a cleared payment. Please note that when paying with PayPal e-checks, it takes several days for them to clear. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
