Item Description

This listing features an authentic Magic kerosene can/bottle.

It is a metal clad, glass can/container.  I've had the opportunity to discuss the metal clad bottle with an interested buyer.  While the name "Magic" is embossed on this can, it may or may not have been associated with the magic lanterns that were prominent in the 1870's. It could also be a can that was associated with a Kerosene product called "Magic".  Since I do not want to deceive potential buyers, I have edited this listing.  This is, however, an authentic and old fill can.  The glass bottle that is wrapped with metal is intact.  The glass interior is blue glass and bears the "bubbles" associated with old glass.  The cork is complete, but has some small chips missing around the edges.  The top has not been removed.  I didn't want to force it.

Overall, this is in very good condition.  No bends in the spout.

This is an extremely unusual kerosene can.  Some detail cleaning is necessary.  I do not know what the composition of the metal is, but most of the paint specks on the surface have been removed without a problem.  I have not tried to remove the glass container for fear of causing damage.  The bottom still needs a detail cleaning.  The black wood handle has some paint on it.  I did not attempt to remove it.

The item measures 14" high with handle extended and about 6 3/8" across the base.

Please review the shipping, handling and other policy statements under the shipping tab, before buying.

This is a "buy now" item.  No need to wait to bid!  You can also make me an offer.  Any reasonable offer will be considered.

If you have questions about this item, please email me before buying.  International bidders who have a serious interest, must contact me to have their country added to the "buy" list.

I sell mostly vintage/antique items from early through mid-century.  All are authentically old, unless I state otherwise. I purchase them at local farm and estate auctions and in most cases know very little about the prior owner, their life-style or habits.
