This antique French Powder Flask is pictured in Rilings Powder Flask Book as flask 484. The depicted flask has a charging cup with bayonet fitting but the flask offered for auction has a spring loaded charger. Dimensions: length approx. 7 inches (spout included) and max width 3 inches. The flask has a mixture of styles embossed....a center panel with hunting trophies and a hunting dog. Below the dog we will find the makers mark J.N.N. a Paris. The panel is surrounded by foliage decoration and fluted borders. There are 2 hanging loops present. Some denting as can be seen on the pictures. The charging unit is working fine....strong spring and functioning mechanism. The spout has a 5 step graduation with traces of original gilding. A must have for the collector of decorative French Powder Flasks. GOOD LUCK BIDDING !!!
