Description:  This auction is for a pair of very rare Hubley, iron bookends called ‘Fox Chase’, circa 1925.  They depict horse and English rider jumping over fence and two dogs slipping through the fence.  Hubley bookends are generally imprinted with a two or three digit number on the back, but no specific company logo (according to Kuritzky’s Collector’s Encyclopedia of Bookends); this pair has incised numbers 215.  They measure approximately 5 3/16” high, 5 1/8” wide.  The one photograph, a flash was used to show the pair; they are otherwise rather dark bookends.  They are in very good condition.
