Victor Higgins (1884-1949) Taos, New Mexico Society of Artists. This piece appears to be either a colored pencil or crayon drawing/sketch of a typical Southwest American townscape. Sight size is 4.5" high X 6.5" wide. The art has been professionally framed with archival materials. It is signed "Victor Higgins Taos" on the lower left/center. In my very basic research I found several works by Higgins using charcoal, mixed media, and conte crayon. These pieces sell for substantially less than his oil paintings. The penmanship and style of the signature match well other published examples. I surmise this work is a sketch for a larger, more detailed painting. It's been well cared for in a good environment. This piece came from an estate in Sarasota, FL about 11 years ago as part of an eclectic art collection I am now selling. Reasonably priced with an option for offers, I offer free shipping via USPS First Class insured mail. No silly offers please.
