Up for auction is a antique kerosene or oil lamp, converted to electric. It hasn't been drilled, so it could be converted back really easy if you wanted to. It's a frosted pressed glass or pattern glass at the top and cast iron on the bottom. I've looked for the pattern, but didn't have any luck. Sorry, I don't know it's maker it isn't marked. However, tucked inside the base was a note. It reads, Jessie, kerosene lamp 1875-1885, Henry Ford, pressed glass, cast iron, statuary base. I don't know what all that means, but that's what it says. It measures about 11" tall, to where you put your blub and weights three pounds, unwrapped. What I think it looks like, is a Cherub, holding a bucket of grapes and eating them with a lamb on his leg trying to get some grapes too. The base is metal, painted black, frosted pressed or pattern glass font, I believe brass spacers and collar and cast iron figural that is a plae green and silver. Purchased at a recent estate sale in small town Kentucky in excellent working condition! A little black paint chipping on the base as you can see in picture #11, but otherwise great. It needs a globe and this will be a beautiful lamp! If you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks for looking and take a look at the other items I have up for auction. Please bid early, I've had many complaints that bids are not going through.
