This gorgeous bedside carafe is a reproduction from a time long ago.

 

History of The Bedside Carafe: The fine inns of France would afford their guests with a carafe of red wine on the bedstand. A small tumbler would be placed atop the glass receptacle in order to discourage dust or gnats from contaminating the grape spirits that were intended to relax and induce sweet slumber. In later times, a coordinating bottle and glass were designed for this very purpose, though offering chilled water rather than wine.

 

 

This gorgeous glass decanter measures approximately 8" x 4.5"  and holds approx 22 oz.

 

Made of glass replicated from a time long ago. Beautifully made  with the cup that doubles as a lid.
