This listing is for a bride's basket with gold enameled painting. The white of the bowl thins into clear as it blends into cranberry. Threading exist on the ruffled or fluted section. The outer rim of the bowl has a clear crest, this rim glows green under UV which indicates the presence of uranium. Diameter of the bowl is 10 1/4" with a height of 3 1/4".
Based on the pontil scar on the bottom and the threading, an English origin is highly suggestive, circa 1880's-early 1900's. Excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Residue does exist on the bottom of the bowl from where it was originally attached to a frame for a bride's basket.
In the event, you want to match this bowl with a metal frame, the diameter of the base itself is 3 7/8" with a height of 3/8".
This listing may be ended prior to its scheduled ending date if there are no bids and it is purchased from another venue.
