From a Pennsylvania farm house estate,What an exquisite piece !This Antique Ornately designed Victorian Cigarette display case which I believe is from the late 1800's era is very unusual.The designs throughout the entire piece screams quality.The etched designed beveled glass lid lifts up nicely and stays up till you close it.. I believe the shell on the bottom is for matches.Measures Approx. 10 1/4" High ,Base is 7 1/4" wide. Box measures 5 1/8" wide Marked on the bottom Meriden Silver Plate Co. 168 ,also marked on the bottom on a cap is Quadruple Plate JOS 8 MAYO .Appears to be in very nice condition for the age, has one corner of the glass chipped & bruised , needs polished.Please look at the pictures selling as is in estate found condition .
