Fabulous Mid to Later Victorian Lady's Chintz Calico Fabric Petticoat / Hand Quilting

This is a beautiful lady's petticoat from the mid to later Victoria era...this quality in a petticoat is not often seen these days. Probably wore in winter or cool weather as the fabric is double. The fabric is a maroon print in a chintz fabric. Waistband is of a red & tan ticking and ties in the back with brown check homespun ties. Beautiful hand quilting covers most of the skirt in a nice loop & circular pattern (sorry I don't know the name of the stitch). Eight rows above the fancy stitching are straight horitizonal quilted stitches. Hem line is edged with hand crochet wine red wool trim which measures 3-1/2" wide to the points. Length of petticoat including the trim is 38" long and 26" around the waist. Condition is excellent except you will find some loose / broken stitches to the crocheted trim. Although this is minor there is some. I found no holes nor staining. This is from a beautiful collection of clothing & will be listing more in the days ahead. I hope you will check back often.
