Victorian Silver Bull's Eye Agate Locket c1870

An oval Locket is set with polished Bull's Eye Agate to each side. The Agate is set in Silver. It has an antique Silver Chain with bolt ring clasp.

The design and craftsmanship dates this Locket to the Victorian period, circa 1870.

 

 

Sizing, Marks and Condition

The Locket is 21mm by 16mm or just over 3/4 inch by 5/8 inch, not including the loop. It is 11mm or just under 1/2 inch deep. The Chain is 46cm or 18 inches long. Combined weight is 6.6g.

Unmarked, both Locket and Chain test as Silver.

In very good condition. There is a small chip to the Agate to the inside of the Locket, the Agate is strong. This cannot be seen when worn. Any marks upon the Agate in the pictures are reflections. Will be sent with a new presentation box.
