Welcome to Garbolatry! Victorian Gown
Description This beautiful gown will be custom made for the high bidder, in your choice of colors and your size! The dress is made in rich solid cotton in your choice of color, with contrasting front skirt panel and bows, and inset at the front of the bodice. In the sample gown, the frontpiece of the skirt is made in wide striped black satin brocade, and the bodice inset is velveteen. Please note: I can get the striped satin brocade in a wide variety of colors for you to choose from. The velveteen will come in a more limited number of colors, or you can choose to do the bodice inset in the striped satin brocade as well. This is just one example of possible color combination, it's really limited only by your imagination! The bodice has a high neck and long waistline for a slimming effect. It is fully lined, and buttons down the front. The sleeves have a bit of a "pouf" at the shoulder, and ruffle at the 3/4 length cuffs, with wide, pouffy bows. The skirt is gathered into an adjustable drawstring waistband to minimize bulk at the waistline. It is pictured over a bustle petticoat which is not included, but can also be worn without a bustle. At the conclusion of the auction, I will send the winning bidder a list of the measurements needed to complete the gown. The gown will be finished and shipped within 3-4 weeks of receipt of color preferences and measurements. Shipping & PaymentI accept payment via PayPal; no mailed payments for both your protection and mine. Payment must be received within three days or the item will be relisted. If you run into any problems please let me know; I'm easy to work with but communication is a must. Due to the special occasion nature of my auctions, all sales are final. However, if you have any problems with your purchase please contact me so I can work with you to resolve any issues. It is the buyer's responsibility to take your measurements accurately. Please see my About Me page for information on how to best ensure your garment will fit properly when you receive it. All garments are professionally constructed in a smoke free environment. All seams are finished and appropriate linings and reinforcements used to ensure that you are receiving a quality piece of clothing. Shipping will be via either UPS or USPS Priority Mail. If you have special concerns or considerations with shipping please let me know prior to bidding. Faster/International shipping rates are available upon request. If you are purchasing multiple items, please wait for me to send you an invoice with adjusted shipping, as I am happy to combine. Insurance and delivery confirmation will always be included in quoted shipping price. PLEASE NOTE: Gowns are normally photographed over hoop skirts or farthinggales and a chemise, which are not included in the auction. I recommend Angel's Bridal on eBay for underskirts, and often have chemises listed which can be purchased separately from gowns.
