This beautiful 1880's Three Piece Ensemble comprising of underskirt, overskirt and bodice.

Size: I have the dress form set at

39 bust, but will fit a 40 inch bust

31 waist, but should fit a 32 inch waist in the bodice. 

Bodice back width is 16 inches wide.

Skirt length 42 inches in the front and slightly longer in the back to accomodate a bustle, though this gown is considered a Walking Length gown.

Fabrics used are Faille Bengaline.  The close up pictures show a more accurate color.

Skirt is hand hemmed, sides are pleated. Completely lined and all seams finished.  Set on waist band closes at center back with button and button hole.  The side back features triangular decorations and fabric buttons.

Overskirt is created with the green fabric on the front and is lined with the black fabric.  Pulled high on the two sides and held in place with black fabric buttons.  Center back closure with tailor hook and eye on a set on waist band.

Bodice is made with the green fabric and 7 wide black bands are hand sewn onto the bodice. Closes down the center front with fabric buttons (4 black on yolk and 13 green down the black center).  Wide cuff created from the two fabrics and decorated with fabric buttons.  Bodice is stifly interlined and is also lined and lightly boned.  Bodice has pleated white lace at neckline an a pointed rolled collar.
