Victorian (Pre Deco or Depression) vibrant lemon green vaseline glass vase or spill. I cannot say with certainty who the manufacturer is but the experts on the Glass Message Board believe that it is most probably by the English manufacturer, John Derbyshire. There is no mistaking the uranium / vaseline glow of the piece. I have tested the glass under a black light and it fluouresces spectacularly. The base has a wide scalloped foot. The foot is also tiered. The stem is reeded and has a double baluster design. At the top of the stem the reeding ends in a petalled design. The top of the vase or spill has 4 oval medallions with raised diamond decoration within them. The upper rim has reeded scalloping. I hope the photo gives a better indication of the precise patterning. There is a crack at the upper rim behind the scalloping. It measures about 7mms in length. I have photographed it for the listing - see photo 2. The vase or spill stands around 18cm tall and it weighs a very heavy 400gms unpackaged. I have a second matching vase/spill which I will be listing next week - in case anyone is interested in obtaining a pair (and saving on postage costs). Regular parcel mail throughout Australia will be around $8. Please contact me if you have any questions or require any further photographs. I accept payment by Paypal, direct deposit or post office money order only. I always try to post next day after payment is received. I do not permit pick ups by local buyers. |
