Item Description:
Up
for auction is a stunning vintage Zenith Model 10-S-452 wooden
chairside
radio. The radio dates to 1940 and it is still in its original
unfinished/untouched condition with all of its original parts.
The radio has a curved front with horizontal slats at the
bottom where the speaker is located. The back side is flat
allowing this radio to act as a table and press right up against the
side of a chair. The radio is on wheels making it easy to use
and you must flip the radio over to access the inside. The
dial and controls are on the top flat surface making it easy to control
from the seat of your chair. The dial is round with a black
back plate and there are six plastic depression switches are on either
side of the dial. The left side features Alto, Bass, Lo Bass,
Voice, Normal, and Treble. The right side has worn
off so I cannot see what these controls are for.
Below the dial is also a selector switch.
The selector swith offers Automatic, Std. Broadcast,
Shortwave, and Medium Wave Modes. The radio is in working
order and it plays well with good volume. The inside includes
its original paper labels, tubes, cord, speaker, and other parts.
The
radio measures approximately 29" x 15 1/2" x 21". The light
inside the dial comes on as does the green eye, the volume
control
works perfectly, the tuning dial and adjustor work perfectly, and the
selector switches work as well. This is a real beauty for the
authentic
radio collector!
I
WILL NOT personally ship this radio because of how fragile it is!
If you would like to purchase the radio, it must either be
picked up, or you must make arrangements on your own for
shipping. I am willing to drop it off at a UPS location in my
area
if you wish to have it shipped this way, but you must deal directly
with UPS once this occurs to arrange your own shipping and payment of
shipping expenses. You may also arrange for freight pick-up
at my location if desired.
Item
Condition:
The
overall condition of the radio is very good. It is very
clean and there are no chips, cracks, or broken areas to the cabinet
except for standard wear from age and use.
There are some scratches to the cabinet and some
rubbing along the upper rim. The finish is original and the
radio has
not
been restored at all. The inside is also original with all of
its
components. The metal components look good with no rust or
corrosion. It
includes
its original
tubes, speaker, and paper labels. This is a very nice
original
radio
to add to your
collection that should be kept in its original form.

Payment

payment is not received within seven days, an unpaid item dispute will
be opened through E-bay to protect ourselves from non-paying bidders.
We are a licensed Pennsylvania Sales Tax vendor and must collect sales
tax from any buyer who resides within Pennsylvania. If you
have a
valid sales tax id number, please provide this number at the time of
the sale and we will gladly remove this additional tax.
Shipping
Information:We
use a dedicated professional shipper for most of our items, because
we want your items to arrive safely and well packed. Please
take
into account shipping charges when you purchase one of our items.
Our shipper charges for the box, packaging materials, time
invested
in packaging your item, and exact delivery costs. For

will combine shipping if you purchase multiple items from us.
We only use United States Postal
Service and United Parcel Service for delivery of our packages.
The shipping charge that is quoted is based upon
current shipping rates, the weight of
your item, and the zip code where the package is being delivered.
Please
note that a handling fee is included with your shipping quote
and now due to E-bay's new policy regarding insurance all
items
will be insured in the event that something should happen in transit.
A great deal of time and mileage is spent acquiring quality
items
to bring to the market place. Our items are cleaned,
researched, professionally photographed, and handled with care
from purchase to delivery. Handling fees start
at $5.75 (includes insurance)
and will not exceed $10.00 (with insurance included). If you
do
not want to have your package insured, please let us know and we will
remove this cost from your shipping total.
Return
Policy: The
buyer assumes responsibility for the item once it is shipped.
If in the event something should happen to your item in
transit
regarding damage or loss, please contact the shipper immediately and
then e-mail us and we will work with you during the claims process.
We attempt to describe the type and condition of the item that is for
sale to the best of our ability. Please note that we are not
experts in all categories, so it is the buyer's responsibility to ask
questions or request photographs prior to the close of the auction.
If the item
is not what you expected to receive, and has been grossly
misrepresented, you may return the item for a full
refund equal
to the closing price of the auction. (Refund does not include shipping
and handling charges.) To receive a full refund, the item
must be
returned in the same
condition that it was originally listed. Replacement
items are
unacceptable forms of reimbursement. All refunds will be at
the discretion of the seller. Requests for a refund must be
received within 3 days of the item being delivered.
