Excellent vintage 1940's or 1950's
brown gabardine winter coat with a taupe faux fur collar.
This has a Talon zipper up the
front and horizontal zipper closure across one hip, and two additional
outer pockets.
The jacket can be cinched on
either side of the waist with tab and buttons, and there are matching
closures on the cuffs.
This is fully lined with a quilted
satin. The gabardine is sturdy and thick - probably wool.
Judging from the label, this is from between 1945 (when J.C. Penney
Co. became Penney's) to the 1950's. I also believe it's a boy's coat,
as it has a space for the owner's address (I love that).
