With Rogue's Gallery, and now
the new line of L.L. Bean Clothing from Alex Carleton, Maine seems to
be inspiring lots of men's fashion.
So I'm happy to offer this good
vintage 1940's (I believe) red wool coat from J.A. Brewster of Camden,
Maine.
This closes with black buttons,
with a matching belt, which closes with two buttons in the front. The
drawstring hood has a brass metal zipper down its center. It is detachable.
There are pockets over each hip
(for storage), and vertical pockets on either side of the torso (for
handwarming) (hard to see in the photo). The black buttons on the pockets
match the buttons on the cuffs and the buttons that attach the hood.
This is not lined. The wool is
dense and heavy and this is probably quite warm.
