This vintage 1940's dress uses one of my favorite non-novelty print fabrics ever .

The material is a thin, semi-sheer silk. It is a pale lavender/gray, printed with Art Deco swirls and dots in dark purple and lime green.

The collar is high and the diagonal pleats splaying from the shoulders create drape over the bust. The shoulders are padded and the sleeves are short and wide.

Beneath the tapered waist, the skirt has pleats across the front, for some (but not much) fullness. The smooth drape of the fabric keeps this close against the body.

This closes up the back with a metal zipper and it is not lined - obviously!

Very cool - a very faint 1/4" spot or "rub" on the front (so subtle, it's hard to tell), the belt is missing, and there are about 10 tiny picks on the collar.

My drycleaner makes me cry, so I leave the process to my buyers, who I hope have access to more skilled cleaners than I do.

The best way to determine whether piece will fit is to measure a similar piece of clothing from your wardrobe and compare the sizes.
