This cute little trio had become lost and forgotten behind some furniture in an unused room in my house. They were covered with dust and cobwebs so I figured it was time to find them a new loving home. This is a 1950's era Christmas decoration measuring 6 1/4" tall and width of 5 1/4". It is made of mostly cardboard, pipe cleaners and crepe paper, cleverly painted, textured and glittered. On the bottom is marked BLUME JAPAN in blue. It features a large smiling snowman in top hat, a little snowman (son?) in top hat, and a Santa snowman holding Christmas tree. I've been told that these were used as candy containers, as each of the heads come off to access the hollow bodies, but I'm not sure of that. I don't remember these as anything but holiday decorations. The condition is excellent other than the aforementioned dust and cobwebs and a slight factory separation to the seam on some of the snowmen. . I cleaned lightly but will need a bit of TLC and cleaning. This is a wonderful little trio and one that I've never seen another like. Thanks for looking and best luck! |
