@Jumblelaya: an INSANELY FABULOUS ca. 1950s/early 1960s (Mad Men era) dress coat.  No later than 1960s; this has the National Recovery Board label.

Amazing style -- you will turn EVERY head wherever you go, you will feel like you just walked off the set of a classic Hollywood film, and strangers will stop you on the street and beg to know where you shop.  Very rare and desirable style.

My coat closet is sadly overflowing, as you would imagine a vintage dealer's closet would be.  My loss is your gain.

Details include:

~Designer label is not found, but it's wonderfully made of very fine quality and materials and has the the National Recovery Board label
~A beautiful lipstick red soft, plush wool with black real Persian Lamb fur collar and cuffs, lined in thick and rich slipper satin in ruby red
~Classic swing silhouette
~Adorable button detail at collar; snaps securely with hidden heavy-duty coat-making snap
~Flattering seaming
~Sleeves are cut elegantly, just the right length to show off special jewelry or pretty black gloves
~Bound buttonholes with self-fabric domed buttons
~Hidden side pockets
~Clean, classic styling that will look good forever

Measurements -
About a modern M to XL -- this will fit many due to its relaxed swing silhouette.

Bust (underarm area, measured flat then doubled):  about 44".
Waist: unfitted/46".
Hips: free/unfitted.
Length, center of back collar to hem: 40".
Shoulder span: about 17 1/2".
Sleeves, shoulder measured to end of cuff: about 17 1/2".

Please note: these are the measurements of the dress itself, taken flat with a flexible measuring tape and then doubled.
You MUST be smaller than the dress's measurements and allow room for give and the kind of fit you desire.

Condition -

This 50+ year old vintage coat is in Excellent+ condition.

Presents beautifully, very wearable, well-preserved.  Fur is soft and supple, free of shedding or dryness, and the wool is unfaded and appears very clean and sound.  The satin lining is clean and unfaded.  This coat looks nearly new.   The only thing we found was a tiny seam opening under one arm, does not have to be addressed to wear the coat but the seam can be closed in a matter of minutes by any drycleaner/tailor/seamstress/person who knows how to sew.
