This Vintage Gibson Melody Maker was made in the USA in 1961(dated by pots & serial #). It has a slab double cutaway mahogany body finished in gloss sunburst finish. Set mahogany neck has 22 fret rosewood fingerboard w/ pearl dot inlays. Narrow headstock has black pegface w/ gold logo, chrome, plank-style open tuners w/ white plastic keys. Black-covered single coil pickup is located in bridge position, volume & tone controls has gold top-hat knobs & metal "pointer" indicators. Wrap-around stop tailpiece/bridge has adjustable height. Black single ply pickguard has model printed just below neck. This Melodymaker has a comfortable, medium-sized neck and excellent action. The punchy tone produced is unique for Gibson and sounds great! Headstock has slight finish wear along top edge, frets show very slight wear, back of body has slight surface, finish marks. Lower bass & treble bouts has finish dings on side edge. Top has slight weather checking. This Melody Maker is in excellent condition. Purple-lined Gibson hardshell case is included.
