DESCRIPTION:

Fantastic vintage 1970s red and white silk graphic print ensemble. This ensemble consists of the 100% silk dress, matching silk scarf and belt. Matching print long vest / jacket is done in 100% cotton fabric. The label on this ensemble is Via Veneto and is made in Italy. We are not familiar with this label, but possibly the original owner had this set custom made in Italy. Or possibly this was a Couture Boutique that was located on the street Via Veneto in Rome.

It is very apparent that this is a high quality garment by taking a look at its construction. Much hand finishing on this garment. Jacket lining is hand finished with the seam binding, bound buttonholes. Metal chain at back of neckline. Dress has hand set metal zipper ("Prentice" is the zipper brand) and hand finished lining. Lots of hand finishing. Button holes on dress have hand stitching, not machine done. Cuffs are hand sewn to sleeves.

Dress comes with matching fabric belt and also scarf that can be worn as a sash at the waistline. The scarf can be threaded through the buttonholes on the jacket and worn hanging down or tied in many creative ways. The jacket / vest also would be great worn with other pieces separate from the dress.

MEASUREMENTS: (All measurements are taken with the garment laid flat using a flexible sewing tape measure - not a metal tape measure. Bust, waist and hip measurements are doubled. These are the exact measurements of the garment. Please allow room for ease of movement. We suggest measuring a similar garment of yours and comparing it to the items measurements. PLEASE NOTE - no refunds or exchanges due to item not fitting.)

Labeled a vintage size 8, but please go by measurements

Bust: 38"
Waist: 33"
Hips: 38"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 15"
Length of sleeves: 23" measured from shoulder seam to end of cuff
Length of dress: 38" measured down center of back
Zipper: 21" center back nylon zipper

MATERIAL: 100% silk dress, 100% cotton long vest

LABEL: Via Veneto, 7. Couture Boutique, Made in Italy. Rome. Size 8.

CIRCA: Believed to be early 1970s

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. The only two things noted upon inspection is one small "pull" to the fabric on the left underside of the sleeve above the cuff. Minor, and you have to look closely for it. Also it is on the underside (or inner side) of the sleeve and would not be noticed. The other thing noted is that the matching fabric belt buckle has some faint discoloration to the fabric. Please see last two photos for a close up of these areas mentioned.
