Another auction in an ongoing effort to clean out my closets. My father passed away in December and I inherited alot of his stuff so space is at a premium in our house right now and my wife wants her closets back.
This auction is for five (5) vintage GI Joe Adventure team action figures along with some accessories. I will try to describe each figure as best I can but bear in mind that I am not a collector or "grader"... these are simply my toys from the late 60's/early 70's when I was a kid.
Starting with the figure on the left (OD green fatigues). The only real defect that I could find on him is a small 1/4" crack at the back of his left knee and missing a touch of paint on the end of one eyebrow. The hair is all there.
Now, the 2nd figure (tan fatigues). He is wearing an original metal dog tag. He has cracks on the front of both of his knees and a bare spot on his beard and another on his head.
Now, the 3rd figure (red hair, black spy uniform?). The only damage that I found on him was a 1/8" crack on his left knee and a 1/4" crack at the joint on his right bicep. He also has one small bald spot on the back of his head.
On to the 4th figure (green top, camo pants). He has the original plastic dog tag. He has a bald spot on his chin and another on the right side of his head. The only damage that I found on him was a 1/4" crack above his behind.... man... I had no idea what a beating these guys took from me as a kid.
And now, the 5th figure (camo uniform). This is the talking adventure team commander figure... and he still talks. "I've got a tough assignment for you", "Let's get there before dark, follow me", etc. He has a 1/2" crack on his upper left bicep and both knees have cracks as well. But, on the bright side, his hair is all there.
Along with the figures, I'm including all of the clothing and accessories that I could find. A real shame because I can't find even a fraction of what I used to have, but this is an assortment of jumpsuits and tops, some kind of storage locker, grenades, dynamite, part of a mess kit, couple of rifles. I'm not sure if all of it is "Joe" gear, but the clothing is. There are also bandoliers, canteens, radios, knives, pistols, and a sleeping bag.
Also, I'm going to throw in the vintage jeep that I used to use with them. It's not "Joe" gear, but it fits them nicely. It was made by a company called "Empire" and includes a 3-piece mounted .50cal machine gun and matching trailer.
Anyway, to recap... these are seriously used toys. The jeep is very dirty and I have neither the time nor inclination to clean out all of the crevices on it. I'm shipping everything "AS IS". So whether you are a dealer, collector, or just someone who wants some cool vintage toys for their kids, hopefully someone has a good new home for them. I know that I got many happy hours from these guys as a kid since we didn't have video games yet, haha. |
