Vintage Antique Doll Italian Girl Piedmont Costume MIB
Description:
This wonderful doll was made in Italy in the 1940's or 1950's, we believe. The doll is dressed in the costume of women in the Piedmont region of Italy. She is tied into the box, so we have not taken her out. You can do that.
She is lovely, with composition head, hands and feet. Her features are painted on. She wears a head dress of lace and cloth and has hair made out of thread or very fine yarn. Her arms and torso appear to be supported/constructed of wood, or heavy card, and she wears a lovely green dress with red piping. Over her dress is a lace apron. She has a cream color underskirt, or petticoat, and her shoes are black, as you can see in our photo.
The original cardboard box has an all over fleur-de-lis pattern and is in remarkable condition, with no tears or splits. Just some minor fading to the box edge.
She has spent many decades nestled in her box, waiting for a new owner.
