This auction is for a vintage antique instruction book for percussion instruments. While I don't know the exact age of this book, the copyright was 1911 and 1912 and below that it reads copyright renewed. The cover reads: The Harry A. Bower System (in three parts) for the Drums, Bells, Xylophone, Tympani. It was published by Carl Fischer (NYC). The book is complete (80 pages). There are no missing pages and none that are torn. The front and back covers and binding are also complete but somewhat torn. On the cover there is a picture of Harry A. Bower and beneath his picture it reads: World's Authority on Drums and Percussion instruments.
Knowing next to nothing about reading music, I don't know what details about this unique item may be important to share with potential bidders! There is both explanatory teaching-type text, a page of photos, and lots of sheet music pages. The book begins with a preface and explanatory remarks, and ends with a page of musical terms. There are some dates written in what appears to be pencil on the top of several pages. I would be happy to answer any questions or send photos to interested bidders with a valid email address.
This auction is a final sale. Please do not bid unless you are sure about your desire to own this item. I do combine shipping costs whenever possible, so please look at my other auctions. Thanks for looking!
