ITEM DESCRIPTION: Quality REPRINT (on buff ivory paper to simulate the aged original) of an original 1905 Black & White Magazine Advertisement featuring The IDEAL IRONER by the NATIONAL IRONING MACHINE CO.
(Please note: As most original magazine advertisements have ads on both sides, each side cannot be sold as an original. Therefore, a quality reprint is made of one side so that the ad will not be lost and can be available to collectors.)
The ad shows a Victorian woman at the cast iron crank handle of an Ideal iron. An antique oval laundry basket is shown catching the fresh pressed linens.
This antique 1900s ad has the caption, "Ironing Without Fire or Fatigue
No work about the house is so exhausting as ironing on a hot summer day; makes the housewife feel "all fagged out." There's a better way -
THE IDEAL IRONER requires no fire; does away with the drudgery of ironing and cuts the work in half. An inexpensive household article that soon saves its cost in fuel. Fits any table; is ball-bearing and runs lightly - anyone can operate it and do beautiful work. Clothes ironed on the "Ideal" retain their whiteness and show more gloss and finish than when ironed with a hot iron. No chance for scorching or soiling. It is simple, neat, durable and strong - a handy help for every home. Women especially appreciate it in hot weather. Guaranteed to satisfy or money back. Write for a free booklet and price."
NATIONAL IRONING MACHINE CO., 2220 Washington Avenue, Racine, Wisconsin
