Vintage Austrian Stoneware Herring Jar - Heringstopf - Mint! Has a wooden lid. This piece belonged to my mother in law who is from Austria. She does not remember the age of this piece, but she brought it over to America in the late 1950's, so it is at least 50 years old. The piece is not marked, making it even harder to date. It is in excellent condition. Grey with blue floral design and the word Heringstopf on the front. Stands not quite 4 1/2 inches in height with a diameter of about 6 inches. Great old piece!
