Vintage Bergamot brass-plated buckle Lillie Langtry

From PawPaw's collections, here is a vintage brass-plated belt buckle commemorating the famous British actress, Lillie Langtry. 

It is 3 1/4 inches wide by 2 1/4 inches high... features bas relief likeness of Langtry with her name under it, lily pad leaf with the year 1901 in the upper right-hand corner, and in the lower left, 'The Jersey Lily' ... 

This vintage new buckle is in excellent condition.  This buckle would date to the 1970's ... has the Bergamot logo on the reverse.  Holds a 1 3/4 inch belt.

My in-laws were antique dealers in northern Illinois for years, and then both worked for an auction service for a long time.   They were collectors of almost every kind of historical memorabilia since shortly after World War II.  PawPaw could always find a lot more interesting items to bring home than he could sell, so he saved them! 

After Mimi passed away in 2005, PawPaw decided it was time to start sharing his treasures with others, and he entrusted me with listing them.  We lost our PawPaw on September 26, but I still have many, many of his vintage and antique collectibles that need new homes, and I will continue listing them as we have for the past four years.
