This Item presented for your consideration is a Very Lovely, Vintage Decorative Bowl which I believe may have been intended to be placed near the front door to collect Calling Cards or House Keys upon entry to the home.  This Very Pretty Bowl is made of fine, translucent China in a stylized 'leaf' shape with a Vibrant, Floral Transfer Pattern in the center.  There is a raised round Clockface painted at one end with Roman Numerals and a raised, curved Skeleton Key in Gold as the Bowl Handle on the opposite side of the bowl from the clockface.  The edges of this Bowl are painted in a Light Green Pearlized Glaze which makes the edges shimmer in the light.  I believe this Bowl is most likely circa 1930's to 1940's when people still adhered to the practice of leaving Calling Cards upon visiting friends and finding the friend not at home.  A member of the family or the household help would request the person's calling card and present a 'card catcher' for the guest to place their card in to announce that they stopped by for a visit.  There is some minor wear of the Gold on the Skeleton Key Handle, but otherwise this piece is in Fantastic Condition; quite remarkable for a Vintage Piece of this age!  This Item measures 6.25" long, 5.5" wide at its widest point and it stands 1.25" tall.  There are no nicks, chips, or scratches on this Lovely Bowl.  There are no markings on the bottom so its manufacturer remains unknown.  Never-the-less, this Wonderful Bowl would make an Excellent addition to any Vintage China or Bowl Collection!
