| | Vintage Coleco Pinball Machine 1970s Hippie Guitar | | | | | |
|
This is a Coleco electric pinball machine from the 1970s. This model was available for Christmas 1975-1976. Features electric guitar players wearing bell bottom costumes. Likely a take-off on the 1974 movie "Tommy," perhaps based on the Pinball Wizard character (?) Hard to find Coleco model!
In fine working condition, working as intended at time of shipment to you. Photos show the electrics are working.
Unit lights up at the top on the word Pinball, and one of the stars labeled Tilt lights up when the machine is tilted. The unit has the original back panel, it is shown removed so you can see the wiring and the lights. If you're handy, you can add more lights to the machine.
There are 4 steel balls. There is a 120 volt AC cord which has been taped on the wiring. Everything works, but it is finicky at times, and you have to fiddle with it a little. Here's how: to start a game, you turn the score dial to start, and insert a screwdriver into the hole on the top panel (shown in photos). This resets the lights, the balls, and the center bumper. To start the balls, you press the red button on the top, and then the lever below, closest to you. Bumpers work.
Originally came with flimsy metal legs, the kind that you find on old office shelves. I read on a pinball website that these legs came off within a couple of weeks of use. This machine has a back leg piece which angles the machine properly to work on a tabletop. Easy to add on wood legs, if desired.
Top is plexiglas, a few scratches but very clear otherwise.
Measures 39 1/2 inches long, 19 1/2 inches wide, and 25 inches tall. Weighs 25 pounds BEFORE packing.
