Vintage Coors Ceramic Mortar and Pestle Apothecary
. These items are in great condition. The grinder rod (Or Pestle I guess) is slightly damaged in that it has a small chip of its end, (see pic 6) and also has some small marks. There also appears to be some damage to its finish near the grinding end. The dish (aka Mortar) has only some small spots and marks on it. Both items are made of ceramic, pottery and both say, "Coors USA". They measure, bowl, 3" dia. pestle, 8" long and 1 1/8" wide. A mortar and pestle is used to grind medicines for an Apothecary as well as to grind herbs for cooking. From the looks of it, the roundish end of the rod is used to grind things in the dish, and then the flat end is used to mix the ground stuff with? Anyhow, these items still look great and would befit any collection or could still be used to grind up herbs and the like.
