Description:
Although unmarked, this very pretty gold pin is a better quality piece of vintage costume jewelry. We think it may be goldplated but it may only be goldtone. The pin has lovely details and detailing and it feels substantial in your hand. Made in the shape of a sun hat, this pin has a pretty ribbon with trailing bow, decorative ivy and seed pearl flowers. The largest flower is represented with one seed pearl surrounded by eight smaller seed pearls. Other indications of its quality are the high definition representing straw in the hat and the brushed design on the underside of the pin where it otherwise doesn't show. We think the pin dates to the 1980's.

This pin was originally sold by I. Magnin, a former luxury department store based in California and known for high quality fashion items. We removed the original price tag when photographing the pin. I. Magnin had its beginnings in San Francisco in the second half of the 1800's. Its stores were located in places like San Francisco's Union Square and on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. It was an iconic store, sadly no longer in existence.

This is a very classic and elegant pin - great for giving! It ships in a simple gift box with a tarnish resistant tab.
