This nice vintage tool is a useful must have for woodworkers. It was never used and the original hardware remains in it’s sealed bag. Box is slightly tattered and one end is torn off. This unit attaches to a fence you already have or that you make. Craftsman booklet, Handbook of Circular Saw Blades and Power Tool Accessories is includes as well. Several pages within booklet detail various set-ups for this accessory including hole sizes and layout. Some verbiage from the booklet: The Craftsman Hold Down consists of four adjustable spring steel “fingers” attaching to the auxiliary fence that you apply to your saw. It fits most bench saws, radial arm saws, shapers and jointers. It provides constant pressure on the work piece the entire length of cut, to assure uniform contact with the cutters and prevent chattering and jumping. It also keeps your hands away from the cutters. Delta Rockwell also offered one of these in virtually the same form. See photos for how theirs was employed on a shaper.
