From the 1960's to the 1980's, I owned a Dress Shoppe and Bridal Salon; and I had this BAD HABIT of buying one for me and one for the store!!!! Consequently I ended up with a lot of THINGS!!!! that I usually hardly ever wore like this DRIZZLE COAT from the 1970's. It is in almost Mint condition !!! BUT the inside lining has shaded discoloration. The top near the body is a deeper color than the lining from the hips down.
It is a made of a beautiful, low nap velvet fabric in a gorgeous shade of Deep Emerald Green with a smooth, satin-like lining that seems to have the ability to keep out the wind because of its density.
It is double breasted with Princess seams that give it an A-line shape. The belt is separate and can be worn tied in the back or front. It has a great collar and lapels (reminds you of the "MOD" Style of the 70's) with gorgeous, LUSH FAKE fox fur; and the same Faux Fur on the cuffs at the bottom of the sleeves. The pockets are sewn into the side Princess seams. The Label says "DRIZZLE, INC." and it is marked a Size "14" but I believe it would best fit a large size 12 to a Size 14 depending on your proportions. The coat weighs about 3 pounds 10 ounces and, I believe will give you warmth for Fall and Winter days.
In about the late 80's I started to gain weight and it was cleaned and stored in a Hall Closet covered in plastic, in a pet-free, smoke-free, mostly air-cleaned home (I have terrible allergies!!).
I cry to finally list it because it has seen so many WONDERFUL special occasions and brought SO MUCH lavish praise for how beautiful and elegant it is!!! Magnificent Holiday Coat!!!!
Measurements : Length from nape of neck in back to hem line - About 54 inches Chest - 40 inches
Waist - 38 inches Hips - 44 inches Length across shoulders in back - 17 inches Sleeve length from shoulder seam to cuff - 22 inches
I am about 5'4" and it hits me at about upper ankle. I am a big 12 on top and a small 16 on the bottom and the hips are a bit small for me. I believe it would fit a large size 10 to a small 14 depending on your body type.
I must downsize now otherwise it would sit in my Closet for another 20 years waiting for me to lose those pounds needed to actually wear it again!!!!! I KNOW you will LOVE IT as I have!!!!!
