Extremely fine original diamond art deco earrings. These are beautifully handcrafted, one-of-a-kind, collector gems. Rose cut diamonds set in 18 karat yellow gold. Fred Leighton diamond collection.

Each earring has 1 carat of diamonds, bezel set, white / clear genuine real diamonds. The top of each earring features 4 genuine diamonds, each uniquely cut to fit the intricate enamel work. From the front of each earring, the emerald green translucent, guilloche enamel can be seen framing the top-most pear shaped diamond, as well as the around the perimeter of the entire earring top. Unlike the plique-a-jour enamel technique, guilloche enamel produces a 3-D effect as it has been applied over the already carved or etched metal surface. The bezel set European diamonds form the elegant, brightly colored, enamel flower which makes up the top portion of the earring. The bottom portion of each vintage earring features a briolette cut sapphire, dangling by a flexible link, allowing the earring to move with you. The cornflower blue sapphires, weighing approximately 20 carats each, are exceptionally clear and brilliant.

The  earrings are dangle - drop earrings. The deco earrings have a delicate, feminine  flow, Victorian straight line dangle. The earrings are as detailed on the back as the front. Each earring has been hand enameled and the backs are detailed in vibrant ruby reds, rich royal blue, emerald green, and white. Fixed with an omega style closure, the earrings have a post for pierced ears, which can fold down when the wearer wishes to wear them as clips.

These earrings will arrive in their original Fred Leighton box, complete with attached satin ribbon, protective pillow, and earring specific storage.

A total of 8 diamonds weigh approximately 2 carats, with 2 sapphires totaling 40 carats. Condition - excellent. Estate piece, tests as 18 karat gold, 19.6 grams. Designer vintage Victorian earrings are 1 5/8inches long; 4 1/2 centimeters long.
